Dividend Yield
The annual dividend per share divided by the current share price. For example, if a company's shares are trading at £100 and the annual dividend is £5, the dividend yield is 5%. However, if the company's shares are £200, the dividend yield is just 2.5%, making it a less favourable investment from a dividend yield perspective.
